spectacular! spectacular!
tonight me and a bunch of girls from my floor went to the homecoming spectacular. it was so much fun! carson and alyssa were great in the young ambassador numbers...so much fun to watch! carson was on stilts and alyssa makes a great monkey! the ballroom dancers were amazing. the mo-tab sang a bunch of fun songs too. my favorites were "bring him home" from les mis, and battle hymn of the republic. entertainers sang that same version of the battle hymn last year so that was really cool to hear in person. during intermission i randomly looked to my right and guess who was sitting right next to my group! none other than the kassie fausett! random! and kayla was in the show too! double random. really cool though.

true blue
a couple days ago, byu put on "true blue football" for homecoming week. sadly, i didn't participate, maybe next year though. its where everybody rolls around in this blue foam, turns blue, and stays that way for days. seriously...people are still blue. i thought i would take this opportunity to tell everyone about the funniest girl ever! natalie thomas. it took me a while to figure out who she reminded me of until she herself suggested a name; dori, from finding nemo. that was it! she is just like dori and it is hilarious! i took a picture of her after the game. see the resemblance?
btw: congrats natalie for making divine comedy!

a spritz a day can't keep the tap teacher away
(title by michelle and brittney, the chipman chicks)
i had tap today, my favorite class! but it was so strange today! i've really only had one other tap teacher in my life, monie adamson. she was the basically the best dance teacher i ever had. and the most memorable thing about her was her scent. i've never met anyone else in the world that wore the same perfume as her...until today. colleen west, my new tap teacher, was wearing it today. i was seriously so confused! it was a total flashback to all the previous tap classes i've had in my life. how ironic is that? the only two people to wear this perfume (to my knowledge) are both tappers and both my teachers...chew on that one.

mr. cool
we have cleaning checks tomorrow in the dorms. i looked at the list of things to do earlier, and guess what i have to do! defrost my fridge...so that's what i'm doing, and it's pretty exciting. i can't stop thinking about monk now though. maybe you don't know what i'm talking about, and that's probably a good thing. but, allow me to explain. if you are a monk watcher you already know that last season, monk went to a college reunion at cal berkeley. everybody called him "mr. cool" when they were at school and he thought it was because he really was cool. at the reunion, his assistant finds out that nobody really liked him at all and the only reason he wasn't a complete outcast was because of trudy (deceased wife). the real reason he was called mr. cool was because he spent every weekend defrosting the refrigerator. so i guess this means you can call me mr. cool!

old ladies
so the other day i decided to eat lunch outside, it was a nice day. i picked a bench that i thought would be safe so i could read a little before my political science class. i was wrong...the bench wasn't safe at all. there was an old lady sitting on the opposite end reading a french poetry book. i guess she just thought it would be fun to get one from the library. she said it was the same book she read when she was at BYU in a beginning french class in the 1940s and she just wanted to see if she could still understand it all. i ended up talking to this woman for an entire hour. she would just not let me go! or eat for that matter...we talked about everything. and i mean everything. her grandsons, les miserables, euthanasia, general authorities, her dying friends, composers, the opera...and the list goes on. she kept using words like "grand" and "beastly." i was quite entertained. she told me about a professor she once had that asked her to name 10 great artists and she couldn't. "ask me now" she said. that inspired me to make my own list, but it was way too hard, i couldn't narrow it down to ten...so tell me, who are your favorite artists?

Pirates of Penzance
On Saturday, I went to Center Street Musical Theater. Hannah, one of her roommates, and three guys that live on her street all went! It was a breakfast theater which meant that i got to eat waffles which i was really excited about! It was a really small theater and so the actors were constantly out in the audience, before during and after the show. a bunch of the pirates kept flirting with me and hannah (the pirate king was way into hannah)...it was pretty funny. the waitress brought us a cup of ice and asked us to play a trick on them. so i asked to try on a priate's hat, filled it with ice and put it back on his head! i was pretty smooth about to, if i do say so myself. so watch out pirates!

it's raining! its pouring!
ok, so it wasn't pouring, but last week it did rain! the thunder kept waking me up at night. it was pretty cool though since i haven't seen much rain living in irvine my whole life. i guess that's all changing now! there was a ton of mud in the grassy area between all the dorms so some of us decided to play some mud football! we got all dressed in old clothes and then didn't even end up playing football...it was basically just slip 'n' slide through the grass sans the yellow plastic slide. but we had lots of fun anyway!

we have problem...
and it is this: i accidentally switched my camera's memory to the internal memory instead of the memory card. i was able to take pictures but now i can't upload them because i don't have the usb cable that fits into my camera anymore. this is really sad because i had a lot of things to post on my blog but now you're all just going to have to wait until i can find a super tiny usb plug.

p-town
i'm in utah! i've been having a lot of fun and meeting a ton of people. i'm getting excited about being in the pre-business program. that's a good thing, especially since i had no idea what i was getting into before the other day. yesterday there was a football game! i didn't go though...when i bought my all sports pass the arizona game was sold out...sad. instead, while everyone was at the game, me and lindsey muir took the bus to the mall! crazy! we shopped a little and then saw the nanny diaries. it was pretty fun. the best part was waiting for the bus afterwards. it came almost a half hour late and we were freaking out because it was the last one of the day and we thought we had missed it or something! but no worries, it did come eventually and everything was alright. later that night there was a dance at the wsc. it was basically awesome.
